We are pleased to announce the launch of the Business Week Charitable Foundation. This is a small grants programme that has been set up by Businesses in and around the Humber Sub-Region as part of Humber Business Week.

Any Community or Voluntary group in the Humber sub-region that has a real community base and a good project idea. Whilst this is a Humber-wide grants programme priority in 2011/12 will be given to applications that impact the most deprived neighbourhoods traditionally marginalised communities.

The Fund is initially aimed at smaller grass roots organisations. Therefore priority will also be given during 2011/12 to groups with an income of less than £10,000 per annum.

Grants of between £50 and £500 are available.

Projects must show how they will make a big difference and how they will do one or more of the following:

• Encourage involvement in community activity;

• Improve the management of local community activities;

• Improve the local neighbourhood;

• Promote racial harmony and community cohesion;

• Contribute to regeneration of an area
